Edita Ter-Balyan SOLD, Blooming Sally, 2020
About the Artist and the Artwork
Edita Ter-Balyan was born in Leningrad in 1988. After finishing the Artistic-Aesthetic Lyceum she has been a frequent participant in Russian and European exhibitions both in group and personal format since 2010. In 2014 she presented her works at the Week of Arts in Florence and in 2019 she participated in the first exhibition of the National Union of Pastel Artists. She is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the International Federation of Artists. She is also part of the Professional Union of Artists.

While elaborating her unique style the artist developed certain philosophies inherent in each of her works. Edita is more known as an artist-animalist but she also likes the genre of portrait and landscape lyrics. In the lyrical landscape “Fireweed” presented at the auction, the mystical psychologism of the hazy mist on the horizon is emphasized by the vivid pink color of the so familiar native fields. “The sketch of the foggy morning in the field inspired by the atmosphere, silence, and nature itself” — this is how Edita describes her work. As acknowledged by the critics, the artist possesses a distinct ability to transform the powerful and at the same time very sensual energy onto the canvas and onto her spectator.

Works by Edita Ter-Balyan can be found in solid collections both in Russia and abroad.
